The vision of Koltur

Since we took over the island of Koltur in 1994 we have worked with our vision, the so-called Kolturvision a plan to restore the society from the time representing the time before the industrial society.

The special faroese house

The way the old houses Heimi í Húsi is build at date from the vikings. The name "sethús" came from this type of house where the people were sitting and sleeping in a bed along the wall and the fire was in the middel. As you can see the cattle stood in the north part of "Niðri í Húsi".

Niðri í Húsi finished outside

Previously the house Niðri í Húsi is finished outside. At the moment we are working on fund-raising to finish the house inside. See the plan above.

The Koltur vision of, jun 1999

The Kolturs vision concerns the whole community and it is a recovery plan for the whole island of Koltur. It is the royal danish academy of art, school of architecture in Copenhagen under the management of Palle Dyreborgs that have prepared the vision.
